The Gathering -First Fire

6th - 8th November

A Hearthkeepers Weekend in Muriwai

Bush, Ocean, Fire, Connection

This is not a workshop. It is not a seminar, a course, or a personal development programme.

There are no whiteboards. No PowerPoint slides. No performance required.

This is a gathering of men — around a real fire, on real ground — who have felt the same quiet pull you are feeling right now. The one that says: there is more to this life than what I am currently living.

Two days. Good men. Real conversation. Fire, food, laughter, and the kind of connection many men stopped believing was possible a long time ago. Come and remember what it feels like to be truly alive.

What to expect

Brotherhood & Belonging

Many men stopped having real friendships long ago — not people to grab a beer with, but men who actually know them. This weekend begins around a fire with men who showed up for the same reason you did. We will eat together, walk together, laugh together. No performance. No man left behind.

What changes when you go home: You carry something back that many men spend their whole lives quietly missing — the knowledge that you are known, and that you are not alone.

Connection to Nature & Body

Many men are living from the neck up — thinking, planning, managing, but rarely arriving. The land and ocean at Muriwai cuts through all of that faster than any conversation can. We slow down deliberately. We walk, breathe, put our feet on the ground. Through breathwork and time in nature, we begin to feel the signals our bodies have been sending for years.

What changes when you go home: You stop running on adrenaline and habit. Calmer in situations that used to hijack you. More present at home, less reactive. The man your family gets to be with changes when the man inside him finally lands.

Reclaiming Power & Purpose

Underneath the busyness, the compromises, the years of keeping the peace — there is a man with real power in him. This is where the fire does its work. Through ceremony and honest truth-telling, witnessed by other men, we name what we have been hiding from. Not aggression — peaceful power.

Grounded. Earned. Yours.

What changes when you go home: The unnamed fear that has been running things quietly loses its grip. You stop shrinking. Decisions come from a different place. The direction you have been searching for becomes clear — not because someone gave it to you, but because you stopped hiding from yourself long enough to find it.

Emotional Depth & Real Feeling

Many men were taught — not in words, but in a thousand small moments — that feeling too much is a liability. This weekend, the masks come off through trust, not force. Around the fire, we speak what is actually true and discover that the willingness to feel is not weakness. It is the bravest thing a man can do.

What changes when you go home: Your partner feels you differently. Your children see a man who is present, not managed. You stop avoiding hard conversations and start having them. What you bring home ripples outward in ways that last years.

Pricing

"Every place — whatever you pay — covers the same weekend: two nights of accommodation, Friday and Saturday, every meal from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, and everything else you need while you're at camp. Nothing left for you to organise.
What it can't put a price on is what happens around the fire — a weekend that puts you back in your body, among men who actually see you, and sends you home different.
This isn't a weekend away. It's the one you'll measure the others against."

No man left behind; please complete this form

Thank you for putting your hand up for a No Man Left Behind place. We want you to know your choice is seen, and it matters to us.

We mean it when we say no man left behind. We also have to be honest with you: we only have a few sponsored places for this first gathering, and we're expecting more requests than we can say yes to. These decisions are never easy for us — we'd love to have every man who wants to be there, there. But we have to choose carefully, so we can genuinely help the men who need it most right now.

So we'd love to get to know you a little. There's no right answer here, and nothing you need to dress up or perform. Just what feels true and comfortable to share.

Just write it in your own words. A few lines or a few paragraphs, whatever feels right. We're not looking for a perfect answer — we're looking for you.

We read every single reply ourselves, and we'll get back to you.

And if you'd rather not say anything then that's OK too, just add your email and we'll take it from there.

Whatever happens with this gathering, we're glad you found us.
